Assistance for foreigners

Matters concerning foreign nationals often require simultaneously addressing the legality of their stay, their eligibility for employment, and their family situation. We determine the appropriate legal basis for residence, compile the necessary documentation, and handle administrative proceedings. We represent clients before provincial governors (voivodes), the Head of the Office for Foreigners, and the Border Guard. In the event of an unfavorable decision, we prepare appeals and represent clients in administrative court proceedings.

Before submitting the application, we check the deadlines, continuity of legal stay and completeness of documentation. We also respond to requests from the office to fill in gaps or provide additional information. If the case goes to appeal, we analyze the justification for the decision and prepare arguments relating to the authority’s findings.

We are contacted by people whose current residence title is expiring, who have changed the purpose of their stay or employer, who have been refused a permit or who want to obtain the right to permanent residence. We also conduct proceedings before the Border Guard and assist with formalities related to marriage and family life in Poland. When the residence issue is related to a civil, family or criminal matter, we coordinate activities in all these areas.

We also advise companies employing foreigners. We prepare documents related to entrusting work, legalizing employment and delegating employees, giving opinions on contracts and analyzing obligations arising from labor law and migration regulations. In cases combining residence and employment, we check whether the employee’s documents and the employer’s activities are consistent with each other. In this way, we organize both the situation of a specific person and the rules applied when employing a larger number of foreign workers.

As part of the East Desk, we support Ukrainian- and Russian-speaking clients, in particular people and companies from Ukraine and Belarus, as well as from other countries in Eastern Europe and Asia. Our activities are not limited to residence proceedings. We also advise on economic matters and international contracts, and represent foreigners before Polish courts in civil and criminal proceedings.
