Criminal Law

Detention, searches, summonses for interrogation, or notices of ongoing proceedings require establishing procedural status, the subject matter of the case, and potential consequences. We verify what steps have already been taken, what documents need to be secured, and whether immediate procedural action is required.

White-collar crimes and fiscal criminal proceedings form a significant part of our practice. Allegations may relate to corporate decision-making, commercial trade, tax settlements, documentation, or actions taken by executive management. In such cases, we examine not only criminal statutes but also contracts, financial records, and operational circumstances.

Clients reach out to us following detention, prior to interrogation as a suspect, or in connection with fiscal criminal proceedings and corporate liability allegations. We also manage multi-faceted cross-border cases and proceedings involving organized crime.

Regarding preventive measures—including temporary remand in custody and bail—we draft appeals and applications to modify or revoke the applied measure. We rigorously analyze whether the grounds cited by the prosecution or court are supported by the evidence and whether they continue to justify the restriction of liberty. We also assess eligibility to seek compensation or redress from the State Treasury for wrongful detention or unjust pre-trial detention.

When circumstances permit, we engage in negotiations with the prosecution to resolve proceedings without a full trial. In court, we execute the agreed defense strategy, participate in hearings, and file appellate remedies. We also evaluate options concerning sentencing, cumulative sentences, conditional dismissal of proceedings, or suspended sentences.

Upon reviewing the case files, we map out the course of action, identify evidence requiring challenge or supplementation, draft procedural motions, and structure the client’s defense. The defense plan is continuously updated as new evidence emerges and decisions are issued by the investigating authorities.
